Watch Trey Parker And Matt Stone Teach NYU Students About Writing

Since the preview video for Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s episode of Stand-In was put online early last month, we’ve been anxiously awaiting to see the full segment. The day has finally come! MTVu.com posted the video online today, which features the South Park creators as they share some tricks of the writing trade.
Between their long-running Comedy Central series South Park and their Tony award winning Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, it’s clear that Parker and Stone’s success in the entertainment business is no accident. These guys know how to tell a story and fortunately for a bunch of college students (and us, now), they know how to explain what they do.
This episode of Stand-In, which was posted on MTVu.com, is only six minutes long, but despite the fact that Parker and Stone weren’t sure what they were going to talk about when they went in, they actually offer some interesting words of advise on writing and story-telling.
If you’re a fan of South Park, check out our preview for the upcoming documentary 6 Days to Air: The Making of South Park, which airs on Comedy Central next Sunday.
South Park returns with a new episode tomorrow night (Wednesday, October 5th) at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
