Odd Future member Frank Ocean was planning to come out via a long and heartfelt note in the thank you section of his upcoming album, but after early reviews began questioning why there were so many love songs featuring masculine pronouns, the hip-hop star decided to get everything off his chest sooner rather than later.
Last night on his blog, Ocean released the lengthy, two paragraph message that was to run inside the album cover. In it, he recounts spending two summers with a man who made him question everything he thought he knew about love. The two were apparently inseparable, but when Ocean confessed his feelings, the man refused to acknowledge his own until years later.

I’ll remember who I was when I met you. I’ll remember who you were and how we’ve both changed and stayed the same. I’ve never had more respect for life and living than I have right now. Maybe it takes a near death experience to feel alive. Thanks. To my mother, you raised me strong. I know I’m only brave because you were first. So thank you. All of you. For everything good. I feel like a free man. If I listen closely.. I can hear the sky falling too.
