We all know that Activision and Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and the two dozen other developers or so working on Call of Duty Games cater toward the console crowd. What we were all unsure of was if DICE could deliver a top-notch console experience for Battlefield 3, enough to rival the likes of Modern Warfare 3. With the new PS3 footage now out and about on the net, you can decide for yourself.

The gameplay footage covers a level that we’ve already seen for the PC, which is good because gamers can compare the two….although it’s a little tough when it’s being streamed through a video player that comes from footage taken from a television show where it was being filmed offscreen. So, you get the point.

Anyway, Battlefield 3 looks amazing and definitely tops Modern Warfare 3 -- from what we can see, anyway. But it’s going to be tough to tell how much of the experience will still be as epic on consoles as it is on PC for Battlefield 3. In the meantime, enjoy the footage and you can look for Battlefield 3 to hit store shelves for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 25th.
