Most multiplayer shooters let two teams of players slug it out. Battlefield: Bad Company 2's Squad Deathmatch mode isn't so tidy, though.

In a Squad Deathmatch, four teams of four players battle for supremacy. It seems like this will be popular on the professional gaming circuit. You can see the new mode in action in the developer walkthrough. The video also features a never-before-seen map called "Laguna Presa."

DICE plans to release a PC multiplayer beta and demo for all three versions of the game early next year. Maybe one of those will give us some hands-on time with Squad Deathmatch?
