Activision announced today that Cabela’s Big Game Hunter will make a return to home consoles at the end of this summer, with gamers having more weapons, gear and game to hunt around the globe.

Jordan Mauer, Senior Director of Marketing, Activision Publishing commented in the press release, saying…

“The pairing of Activision and Cabela’s continues to result in the best hunting games on the market and this year’s Big Game Hunter is no exception,”… “Featuring upgradeable gear, game-changing freedom of movement and realistic animal behavior, Cabela’s Big Gamer Hunter 2012 is a great addition to any gamer’s library.”

The game sounds pretty tight, with brand new environments that includes multiple routes and scalable hill and mountainsides, enabling players to grasp onto better visibility at the risk of being spotted or going the low-down and dirty route through a thicket of foliage to maintain hunting concealment. Sounds a lot like actual hunting, right?

Well, things get better from there because utilizing the environment isn’t the only upgrade contained in the 2012 edition of Cabela’s Big Game Hunter. Brand new weapons and gear has also been added to the cache so gamers will have a vast assortment of rifles, shotguns, camouflage, scent masks and more to help ensure that you’re the hunter and not the prey.

New visible upgrades have also been added to the game that can make or break your hunting experience, and the game also sports some snazzy multiplayer features for up to four-players. Challenge modes, arcade games and competitive features are available for those who don’t mind burying family members with some mad hunting skills.
