Activision has released a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer to remind you that the game has a single-player campaign, with story and characters and all that. The trailer introduces Raul Menendez, said to be "the most insidious villain" the series has ever seen.
"Raul Menendez is idolized as the Messiah of the 99%, yet underneath the surface lurks an insidious mastermind hell bent on global insurrection," says Activision. Menendez is a narco-terrorist from Nicaragua. We'll be introduced to him in the Cold War segment of the game, when the United States is fighting a series of proxy wars against the Soviet Union. Menendez' plans for revenge against the United States will come to fruition in the year 2025, the other main era of the campaign. Experiencing the "origin" of this villain first-hand will hopefully lead to a deeper story than we've come to expect from Call of Duty. Activision enlisted some high-priced talent to make sure the campaign is as cinematic as possible. The story was penned by David S. Goyer, co-writer of the current Batman film trilogy. Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails and Social Network fame) will assist with the soundtrack. Black Ops 2 will launch worldwide on November 13th. Back to top
