Dead Island Bloodbath Arena Dated, New Screenshots Released

published: 2011-11-14 12:20:23
Techland’s Dead Island has managed to sell pretty well, it stayed relevant well after the haunting CG trailer and now the publishers are hoping gamers still want more zombie island action with some brand new DLC.

The most over-the-top and PR rep in the gaming industry sent out word that the Bloodbath Arena will be arriving November 22nd (and yes, Aubrey Norris is even more over the top than anything we’ve ever done here, and you all know that nothing is really off limits here). Anyway, Bloodbath Arena contains four brand spanking new survival maps for one through four players, with wave after wave of bikini-clad zombies trying to rip off limbs and eat your brains.

What’s more is that all the experience, perks and goodies you unlock from the DLC can be carried over into the main game. But wait, there’s more...as stated in the press release,

Oh, and of course for ultimate zombie killing bragging rights, there will be leaderboards with Bloodbath as well, so that you can be like me and go around talking shit about how you are THE best Dead Island player in the universe and then check the leaderboard and get a massive gunshot right to the temple when one of your friends has a score that you have NO idea how the fuck he got it but you and your ego are tremendously irritated about it regardless.

Yeah, I tried to warn you it was over the top. Anyway, if you want to test your zombie survival mettle on a island playing some sexy-dressed heroines and some ghetto heroes then you probably won’t want to play Call of Duty: Black Ops’ zombie mode. But if you don’t mind looking at zombies who have a nice rack shortly before using a shotgun to blow their head to pieces, then Dead Island is the way to go.

You can look for the DLC to drop on Xbox Live for 800 MS Points or you can pick up a copy from the PlayStation Store on PSN for $9.99 once November 22nd rolls around. Those who pre-ordered the game will be able to cash in their token to get the DLC for free. Now that’s a nice pre-order bonus right there.
