Capcom has finally released their somewhat anticipated open-world RPG. There are a ton of people excited about Dragon's Dogma, and first-adopters can pick up their very own copy right now for the Xbox 360 or PS3 in North America.
The game already had a bit of a stigma going in with Capcom announcing that Dragon's Dogma would have some disc-locked content. However, Capcom did mention that they would consider abolishing the on-disc DLC for future releases.
As announced in the press release...
Dragon’s Dogma will be supported post launch with a comprehensive suite of additional game content including additional quests as well as weapon and armor upgrades. A downloadable demo featuring two challenging encounters is now available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation Store. The demo includes in-depth character creation tools which allow players to customize their main character and main Pawn, which can then be exported for use with the full retail game.
That additional content is the on-disc DLC mentioned at the top of the article. However, Capcom has already confirmed that the game has well over 40 hours worth of content, a robust combat system and the Ur-Dragon multiplayer event.
For the most part, the game enables gamers to create-a-player, establish a party, venture around the world fighting mammoth beasts and utilizing some kick-butt skills.
The game has already been praised for its unique combat system for an RPG, which lends itself more-so towards hack-and-slash gameplay as opposed to the traditional turn-based mechanics. Graphically Dragon's Dogma is no slouch, and it has some pretty snazzy animations.
Of course, this is Capcom we're talking about, so tread carefully. You can pick up a copy in North America for $59.99 for the Xbox 360 or PS3. Need to learn more? Feel free to visit the Official Website.
