Rumors have been flying about the fate of Obsidian Entertainment's Aliens RPG since the company laid off several employees involved with the project. Now, one of those former employees has confirmed that the project is kaput.
Strategy Informer spotted the following line listed on the LinkedIn page of David Kondor, formerly of Obsidian Entertainment: "Designer for canceled third-person action Aliens RPG (Xbox 360, PS3, & PC)".
The game was said to be an action role-playing game inspired by the Aliens franchise. I always viewed the project with a bit of skepticism given how little information was released about it. The idea of an epic role-playing game based on a typically action-heavy franchise like Aliens did seem interesting though and it's a shame we won't see it. That's, of course, assuming that Kondor is correct and the game's definitely been cancelled. There's been no official word from Obsidian yet.
