A live-action G.I. Joe film is coming this Summer and yep, someone will be cashing in on it with a video game adaptation. That company is EA, who has just announced they're bringing G.I. Joe to the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PSP, DS, and mobile devices.

The video game takes place after the events of the film, though will also allow players "to re-create and re-live the greatest moments from the film" (flashback sequences?). The game will 12 twelve playable characters with their own distinct set of skills and weapons. At least some of the versions will get a single-screen co-op mode for two players, so as to teach you kids valuable lessons about cooperation.

No specific release date for the game was announced yet. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra will hit theaters on August 7th so expect it around then.
