SCEA has released a heap of information on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the next installment of the racing series due in stores on April 17th for Playstation 3. In a press release issued yesterday, they provided a full track and vehicle list as well as information on some of the game's features.

The North American version of GT5 will also have a number of unique features, such as new racing events and two-player split screen racing.In addition, the North American version will allow players to tune their cars by adjusting the vehicle's power, weight, tires, and suspension. Also, perhaps as a nod to the five people who liked Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, there will be a Drift Mode that evaluates a player's technique as they drift around various turns on the course.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be purchasable through the Playstation Network or on Blu-ray for $39.99.
