The folks over at Tommo, Inc. and SNK Playmore have decided to sweeten the pot when it comes to the upcoming NeoGeo X Gold handheld gaming console, offering a free extra game as part of the Limited Edition bundle for early adopters and pre-orders.

The NeoGeo X Gold is set to release on Dec. 6, offering the handheld console itself, a NeoGeo X Station for charging and doing audio/video output, and a NeoGeo X arcade stick. The console will also ship with a boatload of games preloaded on the console, including Art of Fighting, Alpha Mission II, Baseball Stars II, Fatal Fury Special, The King of Fighters ‘95, Metal Slug, Samurai Shodown II and 13 others.

Basically, you’re looking at a well-stocked NeoGeo console you can keep in your pocket or play on the TV, complete with 20 games for $200. That price point might appear a little high, but can you really put a price on nostalgia?

For those willing to fork over the 200 bucks early, either as a pre-order or by picking the console up around the Dec. 6th launch day, your investment will automatically earn you an upgrade to the Limited Edition at no extra cost. By “limited edition,” we mean you’ll net yourself a free copy of the Ninja Master’s game cartridge to bolster your NeoGeo X Gold collection.

This niche console will actually be available at a surprising number of retailers, including Best Buy, Target, Walmart, GameStop, Amazon and Toys R Us. So no matter where you like to buy your gaming goods, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be able to track one down once it hits store shelves on Dec. 8.
