The 2013 Nintendo Elite Status gifts have finally been announced, rewarding all of those who have been purchasing oodles of Nintendo products throughout the year with free swag or, if they choose, a free game.
For those unfamiliar with the Nintendo Rewards program, it’s basically a perks system for registering your Nintendo products. Each time you buy a Nintendo console, like the 3DS or Wii U, or a game for one of those systems, you can register the product and receive Reward Coins for your purchase. You can even take surveys for your various games and consoles in order to earn more points.
Throughout the year, participants can cash in their points for free items, like a Kirby patch set or Animal Crossing game case, or free games, which usually swap out on a monthly basis. Your total number of Reward Coins is tallied at the end of each year and, for those who bought enough Nintendo goods throughout the year, a Gold or Platinum status may be achieved. When that occurs, additional prizes also become available for those “highest achieving” members.
This year’s Elite awards have finally been announced over on the Club Nintendo website, revealing a pair of special rewards exclusive to Platinum member only and another six rewards available for both Platinum or Gold. You can only pick one reward, so choose wisely. Simply head on over to the above linked site, sign in and choose your prize. It’s that simple.
Now let’s take a look at those prizes, shall we?
First up are the two prizes available only to Platinum members, including a three-poster set and a The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask Original Soundtrack. The posters feature The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, an 8-bit Luigi and Pickmin, and the soundtrack is exactly what it sounds like. Only available to Platinum members, you may choose either of these prizes and the Big N will deliver them directly to your mailbox.
Another physical prize kicks off the awards available to Platinum or Gold members, and it’s a 2014 Club Nintendo Calendar featuring artwork from a dozen of the publisher’s best games.
The remaining five rewards, also for either tier of membership status, are games. For those who would prefer a console title, the original Super Smash Bros. and WarioWare D.I.Y Showcase are available for the Wii and Wii U. On the portable front, you could either ged The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Super MarioLand or Sakura Samurai.
If you didn’t reach Gold or Platinum status this past year, cheer up! You’ve got about 12 months left to buy as many Nintendo products as possible in order to get in on next year’s goodies.
