SSX Online Modes Walkthrough Video

published: 2012-01-19 14:46:28
Creative Director Todd Batty for the upcoming extreme sports snowboarding game, SSX, briefly goes over some of the modes and ways that the revolutionary online mode works for SSX including the game's proprietary RiderNet system.

One of the things that makes SSX's online modes so interesting is that it utilizes the RiderNet system to enable friends to compete against each even when they aren't online together. Basically, gamers can race a course on a mountain and have their ghost uploaded to RiderNet to stand as a competitive entity for whenever your friends decide to ride that same course. It's a neat way to keep the game competitive for even when people aren't online to play against each other.

My only concern with this game is that EA is known for shutting down servers for their games rather quickly especially if the game doesn't hold mainstream appeal. I guess if you really like SSX and want to keep using its online features you'll probably have to hope that more than just a niche audience buys and continues to support and play the game, otherwise I can see EA shutting down the servers for the game rather quickly...those ghost saves eventually will start taking up memory on servers and EA is keen on cutting costs wherever gamer satisfaction is concerned.

You can look for SSX to launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 starting February 28th in North America and March 1st in PAL territories. For more info feel free to visit the Official Website.
