THQ released the adventure game Stacking today. It can be downloaded through PSN or Xbox Live for $14.99 (1200 MS Points).
Stacking is the typical weirdness you'd expect from developer Double Fine, the studio behind Brutal Legend and Psychonauts. This game imagines a world entirely populated by Russian stacking dolls. You play Charlie Blackmore, the world's smallest doll. His family has been kidnapped by an industrialist baron and it's up to him to save them. Being the smallest doll has its benefits. Blackmore can stack inside other dolls and gain their special abilities. He can then use these abilities to bypass any obstacles he'll encounter. Many of game's challenges have multiple solutions, encouraging you to experiment a little. Stacking is the second downloadable game that Double Fine and THQ teamed up for. The first was Costume Quest, a Halloween-themed adventure released in October. Their agreement was only supposed to last two games. Perhaps they'll continue to work together if both games' sales meet expectations. |
