Into The Stars Will Be Leaving Early Access Next Month

If you grew up in the 90’s, then you remember braving the Oregon Trail in the unforgettable computer game, working to keep your family from dying of dysentery or cholera. When I was a kid, I didn’t even know what those were. Now take the tragic story of hardship in Oregon Trail and change the setting to space—and you have Into The Stars. And now the game from Fugitive Games will finally be leaving Steam Early Access and officially launching.

Into The Stars is an open-world space simulation that has players fighting for survival in the depths of the universe. The player takes the role as Captain of the last remaining ship as you traverse the star system defending against the Skorn to save your civilization.

Into The Stars has been in Early Access since July and Steam reviews of the game have been pretty mixed. Some of the complaints in the reviews included that the game felt outdated, like a “game from 2003.” And another user said the game felt cheaply made, like something you’d see on a mobile device. It’s almost like players were expecting to go into this game to find a game like No Man’s Sky, the overly ambitious space adventure and exploration game coming out this year. Check out the pre-alpha trailer for Into The Stars below.

And just yesterday it was announced that a vinyl copy of the soundtrack from iam8bit and music composed by Jack Wall (Call of Duty, Mass Effect) will be available including the 180-gram vinyl (splatter design), album art by Arno Kiss and a copy of the digital soundtrack.
