Unreal Development Kit February Update Released

published: 2010-02-09 13:55:00
Epic has sent out word that the February beta update for the free-to-use Unreal Development Kit has hit the net. This means that game-designer-wannabes, indie studios and pro game designers alike can get their hands on a free update for the development toolset.

There’s a whole listing of kick-butt new features added in the February update, but it would literally take several pages to list everything. Instead, I’ll simply highlight some of the stuff that’s featured in this month’s release.

There’s:
Dramatically improved Navigation Mesh simplification
Matinee improvements
Kismet improvements
CameraAnim Improvements
Static mesh LOD improvements
Moving UTGame native code to UDKBase native package
Volumes, static meshes and triggers now have more apparent collision hull wires

There’s a ton of more fixes, updates, additions and so on, but you’ll have to get a full listing of that stuff over at the Official Website.

For those of you who need a little helping hand in getting adjusted to all the neat stuff the UDK has to offer, be sure to check out some video training tutorials over at Epic Games.
