You may have heard whispers of a major trailer arriving online this evening, and those rumors weren't false: just a little while ago we posted the first official trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Though the preview didn't feature any epic battles or hordes of orcs, what it lacked in action it more than made up for with beauty and an insane amount of nostalgia. Every shot in the trailer is breathtaking, from Bilbo Baggins wandering through The Shire to Gandalf in a fight against a mysterious creature. Everything about it is stunning and now we've gone through it frame by frame to pick out all of the best parts.

The only thing I ask is that you don't look at the images too long: doing so may result in you unwittingly running down to your local hospital and requesting that they cryogenically freeze you until December 14, 2012.
