It’s time for a little positive X3 news. Yes, some actually exists. It’s more enjoyable if you just forget the film is being slowly engorged by the Hollywood super-power known as Halle Berry. But enough of that, let’s get positive.
Halle Berry has been out talking about X-Men 3, and while she didn’t say much of substance, she did drop this: “I’m hoping Storm is going to fly! Not the plane, I’m not talking about the plane! Fly!” Though I’d be perfectly happy for Storm to be written write out of the franchise, if she is going to be in the third film, stepping her powers up to flight is the way to go. Especially since this is the end of the X-Men. That’s right the end, at least according to Halle, “And it is the end, so prepare for some big, you know… ending, if you will… to occur.”
Okay, so Halle isn’t exactly articulate and it’s a little tough to figure out what the heck she’s talking about, but the end? Is she referring to the end of the franchise, or her last time playing Storm, or what? Does Fox anticipate the movie being so horrible that it’ll be a franchise killer? I know we all think so, but shouldn’t Fox be a little more optimistic?
But back to being positive, in other X3 news AICN has run a rumor this morning on who they think will be playing Archangel, aka Warren Worthington. Their scooper says it’s Ben Foster, who you may remember as the guy doing a Brandon Lee impression in Hostage. Foster is a nice actor, but I’d never have pictured Warren as the disaffected, rebellious type Foster seems best at playing. Ryan Phillipe or someone like him would be a better fit. Still, Foster is a solid actor, and wouldn’t completely fail so if AICN’s rumor turns out to be true it’s another bit of fairly good news. We’ll take what we can get where X3 is concerned.
