The Avengers Reveals New Footage In German Trailer

The first trailer for The Avengers crammed in so much footage and shots of explosions that it will be hard to anything else to show significantly new stuff, at least until next summer when the marketing campaign ramps up in full force. So the German trailer for The Avengers, which surfaced online (via Hey U Guys) and can be viewed below, isn't exactly a revelation, and even if you don't speak German you know what's being said since it's exactly the dialogue from the original trailer. But there are a few new shots to be seen, including the encounter where Black Widow finds Bruce Banner in India and convinces him to join S.H.I.E.L.D. (that scene was shown in full at New York Comic Con. You'll know it when you see it, so check it out below.

It's a shame they also kept in the awful hard rock song at the end of the trailer, but hopefully it's at least an opportunity for the Germans to make fun of us for our music choices, instead of the other way around. I don't really know what to make of the German dubbed-over voice for Robert Downey Jr., though, which seems to miss all the sly nuance in RDJ's delivery. Then again, it's been nearly 10 years since I last took a German class, so maybe I'm just too rusty in the language.

The Avengers, which you might have forgotten about entirely in all the hubbub around The Dark Knight Rises last week, is also a hugely anticipated film of next summer, and comes to theaters May 4. You can find out everything else you need to know about the movie in our Blend Film Database.
