You don't have to be a huge surfing fan to recognize the name Bethany Hamilton, or at least her remarkable story. In 2003, when she was just 13, Hamilton was attached by a shark while sitting on her surfboard, losing her entire left arm. Just a month later she was back on her board, and in 2005 took first place in a national surfing competition. Her amazing story is the focus of Soul Surfer, the film releasing this Friday based on Hamilton's memoir, starring Anna Sophia Robb, Dennis Quaid, Helen Hunt, Kevin Sorbo, and in her acting debut, country singer Carrie Underwood.
