Welcome to 2014, hop along horror hounds. It’s a new year, but apparently nobody told Blumhouse Productions, who are rehashing the same old crap with Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, the first spinoff of that franchise and also the first genre film of the year. It definitely wasn’t the best place to start things off, but every ladder to success needs a bottom rung, and we’re excited about what the year has to offer. So before 2015 gets here without me realizing it, let’s dive right in, with a quick pit stop at the Laundromat.

A Fantastic Fear of Everything Gets New Trailer and VOD Release Date
Simon Pegg is an actor who can spin performance gold in any film he’s in. Though it came out in the U.K. in the summer of 2012, Crispian Mills and Chris Hopewell’s surreally horrific comedy A Fantastic Fear of Everything still hasn’t come out here in the U.S., but Cinedigm is putting the film out in theaters here on February 7 in a limited number of theaters. Luckily, anyone who wants to catch the film before that can see it on VOD next week on January 7. And the trailer seen above was released exclusively for U.S. audiences.

In the film, Pegg plays a man named Jack, a children’s author turned crime novelist. When his research into serial killers embeds itself in his psyche, he goes slightly insane thinking about becoming the victim of such a random murder. He is given what seems like a big break in the business, but the break is more mental than anything. He spends a lot of time in Laundromats. That’s what I meant earlier. Let’s just hope this little indie film isn’t a wash.
