First Poster For Ridley Scott's Prometheus

When the first high-res photos from Ridley Scott's Prometheus dropped earlier this month we were left with a lot of questions, but the biggest questions were about the giant head that appears in three of the five stills. Going by scale, the statue looks to be at least 50 feet tall and the cheeks are covered with strange markings. We probably won't get any answers on that front until the movie arrives in theaters on June 8, 2012, but we have to assume that it plays a significant role, particularly because it's now featured on the poster as well.

UPDATE!: Fox has officially released the poster, which, as expected, is much clearer then the one we originally posted. Check it out below and click on it to see it in high res.

While some of you may disagree, I feel like there's something wrong with this poster. It's way too dark and the contrast levels looked like they've been pushed up to 100 (to the point that you can barely tell what you're looking at). What I do like about the poster is the use of the black and green motif, which, of course, ties back to the design of the poster for Ridley Scott's Alien in 1979. Hopefully this poster's arrival signifies that we may be getting a trailer soon.

Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall and Logan Marshall-Green. To see more from the film, be sure to head over to our Blend Film Database.
