Pixar can’t lose. So they could do the safe thing and just keep on making the same movies about small creatures or objects. Fish, bugs, toys. That’s the safe route. They also could have stayed partnered up with Disney.

Pixar didn’t get where it is by playing it safe.

Enter the new trailer for The Incredibles, which officially makes it the movie I am most hungry for. Yes, even more than Spider-Man. The Incredibles is well, judging from this trailer nearly an action movie. A gorgeous one too. Is this a new direction for Pixar? I think so. It’s certainly not quite the same thing as making movies about monsters under your bed. This trailer is unbelievable. This is the most beautiful work Pixar has ever done. I need this movie now!

The Incredibles is Pixar’s next great masterpiece and the story of a family of retired superheros. Mr. Incredible has grown a bit paunchy, but when the world needs saving he does his best to squeeze back in to the old costume.
