New Jack The Giant Slayer Trailer Serves Up Giant-Sized Action
Bryan Singer is likely up to his ears in X-Men pre-production, now that he has agreed to take over for Days of Future Past from director Matthew Vaughn. Heís busily broken casting news items over his Twitter feed (follow him, if you donít already) and should begin filming momentarily. But first, the Valkyrie director plans to take audiences up the legendary beanstalk for a stylized retelling of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale with Warm Bodies standout Nicholas Holt in the lead.
A new trailer for Jack the Giant Slayer made its way to Appleís trailer page. Check it out below:
Hoult worked with Vaughn on X-Men: First Class, playing Beast in a role will come back in Singerís Future Past. In the meantime, theyíll playfully restage the story we all know and love, and this clip does a better job of selling a more mature tone to Giant Slayer -- which looked a little jokey and adolescent in earlier cuts. And maybe thatís what it is. I mean, it appears to be tailored towards kids and families, even if nothing Singer attempted before this suggested heíd want to do a family movie. Still, the Beanstalk story is iconic, and this looks like a fresh spin.
The techno-metal soundtrack gears Giant Slayer back toward the MTV crowd, so weíre on strange footing about the tone of Singerís movie until we actually see a finished product. The movie hits theaters on March 1, and will be available in 2D, 3D and 3D IMAX. Do you think youíll check it out? And in what format do you plan to witness Singerís larger-than-life action sequences? Share your thoughts below.
