Lindsay Lohan is about to work with her idol. Apparently she has a thing for Anne Margaret, and she's been cast to co-star with the aged former teen star in a movie called The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond.
The movie is based on a screenplay by Tennessee Williams, and Lohan's part is that of the unruly daughter of a plantation owner in 1920's Tennessee. To please dad, she has to pass off her poverty stricken boyfriend as a well-to-do stiff. Sounds a little like The Notebook light to me.
Human Torch Chris Evans will play her boyfriend and Anne Margaret is her mother. David Straithairn is also in the cast, and if he's playing her father that's just about the only thing that could possibly get me interested in it.
There's no word on a director attachment yet, but they'd better find someone good if they want to keep Lindsay as part of the project. She's not working with Neil Blomkamp.
