Morgan Freeman: Better Off Red![]()
When you hear that Morgan Freeman is starring in a new movie called Red, don't get too excited. It's not, I repeat not, a sequel to The Shawshank Redemption, in which we follow Freeman's character Red as he lives his peaceful life in Mexico. Tim Robbins isn't even in this movie, people.
Instead, Red is a fairly generic sounding spy movie, starring (probably) Freeman as a retired special ops CIA agent living the peaceful life until an assassin (probably Bruce Willis) shows up to kill him. I say probably because it's possible the roles will be reversed-- Variety isn't saying who will play who. But that seems like the likeliest scenario, right? The film is based on a Wildstorm/DC Comic, which means it'll be a comic book adaptation that might appeal to your dad too. Because even though you probably want to see Freeman and Willis teaming up, I guarantee your dad who has watched both Die Hard and Shawshank 80 times wants to see it even more. |
