Pixar Goes Sci-Fi![]()
If there’s any company I consistently look forward to new releases from, it’s Pixar. Even though the company is now owned by Disney, Pixar continues to put out high quality animated movies with a focus on the story – an attitude that appears to be crossing over into Disney instead of the (deeply feared) reverse of Disney affecting Pixar.
In Disney CEO Robert Iger’s letter to shareholders this week, the company announced their release for 2008 - WALL-E, a movie Sci-Fi Wire believes to be about a young robot looking for a home in outer space. Pixar has previously tackled environments that include undersea locales, lush tropical jungles, and frozen wastelands, but the idea of a Pixar rendered outer space really is something to really look forward to. Returning to direct WALL-E is Finding Nemo award winning director Andrew Stanton, who also co-directed Toy Story 2. |
