Oscar nominations are in tomorrow morning, but before that let’s take a moment to remember all the movies that won’t be mentioned anywhere in or around the Academy Awards. That’s right, it’s time for this year’s batch of Razzie nominations, awarding the worst in film for the 27th year in a row.

The 27th Annual Razzie nominees are here. Usually they render themselves irrelevant by trying to throw in a few nominations just to piss people off. For instance Star Wars Episode III got some wost movie nominations, even though, whether you like it or not, there’s certainly no way it could by any stretch of the imagination be considered one of the worst movies of the year. Not when Uwe Boll is still out there working. This year, they’ve mostly avoided their practice of using nominations as a way of publicity whoring. The one exception to that being their nomination of Superman Returns Kate Bosworth for Worst Supporting Actress. Come on, that’s obviously idiotic. But otherwise they pointed their finger at movies that deserved it for a change. Little Man and Basic Instinct for instance, garnered the most Razzie nominations with 7 each.

The most high profile film to receive a serious savaging was Lady in the Water, with four nominations, two just for Shyamalan who gets mentioned for Worst Actor and Worst Director. If any of you were still in denial about where Night’s career is headed, maybe this will be enough to wake you up.
