Obviously not everything in Bryan Lee O'Malley's six-volume comic series about Scott Pilgrim was going to make it into Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Edgar Wright made a very faithful adaptation, right down to replicating some exact panels, but come on, some parts were going to have to go. As it turns out an easy section to cut was a flashback in book two, showing how Scott met his band's drummer Kim Pine in high school and fell for her instantly after rescuing her from a kidnapping at the hands of the rival school. Yeah, Scott Pilgrim just lives in that kind of world

You won't get to see Michael Cera and Alison Pill act out that part of the book, but Adult Swim has made it possible to see the next best thing-- Cera and Pill lending their voices to an animated take on the flashback, appropriately titled "Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation."
