See Miss Piggy's Designer Wedding Gown From Muppets Most Wanted

Here comes the bride, all decked out in designer wedding day couture! In this newly released still from Muppets Most Wanted, Miss Piggy looks simply stunning in her elegant wedding gown. And when a star as big as Miss Piggy is looking for the dress for her special day, you'd assume she had her pick of designers. Well, she did, and chose the one and only Vivienne Westwood to create this instantly iconic look. (Click the image above for full-size.)

The caption from Disney's press release for the above image reads: " Vivienne Westwood Couture Wedding Dress Designed Exclusively for the Divine Diva," and really that says it all. But Piggy herself shared a few thoughts:

" Vivienne Westwood is fabulous—just like moi. When I asked her to design this wedding dress for moi’s new movie Muppets Most Wanted, she was thrilled and I was thrilled. The only one a bit ‘iffy’ about it was the Frog."

We first got confirmation on Muppets Most Wanted's wedding plot last year, back when The Muppets sequel was being called The Muppets…Again! At the time, production designer Eve Stewart had spilled the beans on the wedding and its setting: The Tower of London. For the very special event, Miss Piggy went designer, but also (fittingly) green! The Vivienne Westwood couture Long Ivory Court wedding gown has corset detailing and paillettes made from recycled plastic bottles. And this is not the only Piggy wardrobe Westwood designed especially for the film. Keep your eyes peeled for a Vivienne Westwood couture Harris Tweed houndstooth check coat and matching beret worn as well as a long silver hand-embroidered floral lace gown.

Of course, longtime Muppet fans may remember that Piggy and Kermit got married in Muppets Take Manhattan, but it seems that ceremony has been deemed non-canon.

But will Piggy and Kermit make it down the aisle in Muppets Most Wanted? With a devious doppelganger running around, causing chaos for our favorite felt couple, it's too soon to say. We'll have to wait until March 21st to see if wedding bells will ring, or if this dress will go to waste.
