Simon Pegg Take 'Delicious' Role In Australian Thriller Kill Me Three Times
I'm like 99% sure that nobody in history has ever complained, “Simon Pegg is in too many movies.” And if that person would happen to exist somewhere, I’m happy to let them down by saying – bugle noise – Simon Pegg has another movie lined up after his highly anticipated performance in Edgar Wright’s The World’s End! That was a lot to exclaim but it was worth it.
He is set to join the Australian thriller Kill Me Three Times for Cargo Entertainment, according to Screen Daily. The dark drama will be helmed by Australian director Kriv Stenders, last responsible for the family drama Red Dog, about a dog who united a community by looking for his master. This looks to be a complete 180 from feel-good storytelling.
The film’s storyline is rather vague, and involves a young woman in an Australian surfing town who finds herself the link between murder, blackmail and revenge. I’m not even sure which of the film’s two female stars – Alice Braga On the Road) or Abbie Cornish (Seven Psychopaths - is the lead. The film also stars Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines and Sullivan Stapleton (Strike Back).
Unfortunately, Pegg’s role is intentionally hidden, though Stenders calls it a “delicious role” and that it “will be an exciting surprise for audiences around the world.” Here’s hoping he gets to drink a pint at some point. You can catch the scene-stealing Pegg in theaters now in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness.
Production for Kill Me Three Times is set to start shooting in mid-September in Western Australia. And more importantly, The World’s End is out on August 23.
