Walking With Dinosaurs Trailer Brings Prehistoric Creatures Back To Life
Watching this UK trailer for Walking With Dinosaurs, which comes to us thanks to MSN, I am left with one question: is this going to be a silent movie? I don't get the impression that the dinosaur characters are going to talk in this one, and the voice over was clearly made just for the trailer, so does that leave the film to just be an experimental silent movie about prehistoric creatures? If so, I'm totally in.
The film is based on a BBC series from the late 90s that had the same name, and featured Kenneth Branagh performing narration. The interesting thing about the way it was shot - as you can see above - is that the environments are real and all of the creatures are digital. The show was made to seem like a normal nature documentary - just with digitally created animals.
Has anyone else noticed that dinosaurs seem to be massively popular right now? Not only is there Walking With Dinosaurs, we just saw the IMAX 3D release of Jurassic Park, and both Jurassic Park IV and Pixar's The Good Dinosaur are coming out in 2014. I'm not sure what inspired this mad rush, but I'm also not complaining.
Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale directed the film, which will be released in 3D and tell the story of how two dinosaur brothers try to follow in their father's footsteps. See it in theaters on December 20th.
