Disney/Pixar has thought of a great way to promote their upcoming animated movie Wall-E. In case you haven’t heard, the film is about a little robot in a future where the human race has migrated into space, leaving Earth a deserted garbage dump. To get you ready for the film, Pixar is giving you a chance to buy your own robot.
Or, you could if the technology existed. Since it doesn’t, they’ve launched a website when let’s you pretend. If you go to BuyNLarge.com you’ll find what appears to be a corporate website for a robot manufacturer. A little digging quickly reveals that it exists in a distant future where Paris has migrated to space and humans are expanding beyond the planet. The company looks like a remnant from an era before the one we’ll actually see in Wall-E, with similar, yet somewhat simpler robots like the SALL-E and the GAR-E for sale on their website.
It’s worth digging through, especially if like me you’re absolutely obsessed with whatever Pixar does next. The site is loaded with faux content, go forth and waste time here. Let us know what you find.
