Sorry to crush your hopes right from the start, but this isn’t the footage of Watchmen that Zack Snyder recently screened at the Cinema Expo. In fact, this Watchmen footage doesn’t show any of the super heroes from the movie, with the slight exception of Ozymandias. This is footage from Watchmen none the less.

You might remember a few months ago that Snyder started a contest for fan-made videos advertising products created by the Veidt corporation. The idea was that the videos would be played in the background of the movie as advertisements on televisions, which is a pretty cool prize if you ask me.

The fruits of labor have arrived online via the Watchmen YouTube channel and, frankly, they are hilarious. I mean, they are supposed to be, because these are commercials that needed to look like they fit in with the movie’s ‘80s setting. Some people did some great work out there and I hope they are rewarded with some cool placements in the movie. You know, there’s nothing like seeing kids playing with an Ozymandias doll right before Rorschach smashes some goon’s face into a television.
