Movie-lovers old and new get some serious treats in May's Netflix haul, as the pop culture classic, Forrest Gump, is one of the films coming online in the instant queue. Though if more recent films are your style, then you can catch some impressive indies from last year, with both Don't Think Twice and All We Had making their debuts on the streaming platform. And if you missed it at the theaters, you can finally see Marvel's Doctor Strange in the comfort of your own home, as Benedict Cumberbatch's Marvel debut rolls out towards the end of the month.

If television and consulting detectives are more your speed though, you can catch Cumberbatch sleuthing around London in the fourth season of the BBC's modern adaptation of Sherlock. Not to mention, DC fans will get their small screen fix when Supergirl and The Flash's most recent seasons hit the streaming giant's catalog, though there's no exact date for when that's going to happen just yet. CW fans won't be empty handed though, as Riverdale's first season will also be joining the ranks, and if you've been shy to give the show a shot, it's well worth a binge.

But if you're a true Netflix fan, then you're going to be pleased to know that some amazing original content is on the horizon as well. Not only is The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt coming back for season 3, but Master of None gives us its long awaited second season as well, and House of Cards will finally drop Season 5 into our eager laps. Also, Maria Bamford - Old Baby will be one of the stand-up comedy offerings the streaming provider will claim as an exclusive, as well as Tracy Morgan's return to stand-up with his special, Tracy Morgan: Staying Alive. Last, but not least, Bloodline closes the book on its family intrigue with its third and final season, while Brad Pitt tries to clean up the Middle East in the dark comedy satire, War Machine.

Netflix subscribers, there's no limit to the entertainment coming your way in May. However, if you want to see what came online last month, you can check out our previous listing of arrivals here. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for the list of titles leaving Netflix in May, as you'll want to keep a close eye on what's going to be disappearing from your queue in the month ahead.
