The Han Solo movie hit a rough patch last month when directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller departed due to creative differences with Lucasfilm, but now Ron Howard is helming the project and aiming to get things back on track. The second Star Wars Anthology spinoff is finishing the rest of its principal photography in London, and while Howard was initially trolling fans with his behind-the-scenes looks, today's set photo is a big one, as we finally see Donald Glover costumed up as Lando Calrissian.

lining up a shot today from my director's monitor

As much as Ron Howard would have liked to have us admire his fancy director monitor, it's the shot on the monitor that's drawing all the attention, as we see Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. While Glover's Lando mustache was previously shown off on Woody Harrelson's Instagram page, Howard's photo is our first real taste of the Atlanta lead in character on the set of the Han Solo movie. Like Billy Dee Williams' Lando, Glover's younger incarnation is quite the snazzy dresser (perhaps he'll be wearing those other colorful duds teased last week), but other than that, it's impossible to discern any plot details from that shot. This peek comes a day after Howard posted a photo that potentially hinted at next year's Star Wars movie including other Wookies besides Chewbacca.

Star Wars fans will remember in The Empire Strikes Back, it was revealed that the Millennium Falcon originally belonged to Land Calrissian. Not only will the Han Solo movie show Han and Chewbacca's early encounters with land, but it's also been reported that we'll see Han winning the ship from his fellow scoundrel. Donald Glover also commented last month on how Lando is such a compelling character because it's hard to tell whether or not you can trust him upon meeting him, potentially indicating that although Han and Lando eventually become allies, there may be some tension between the two of them at first.

Taking place years before Han Solo met Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Mos Eisley cantina, the Han Solo movie will explore Han's formative years becoming a notorious smuggler. Aside from Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, the movie's cast includes Aldren Ehrenreich as Han, Woody Harrelson as Beckett, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Michael K. Williams, Ian Kenny and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. It's also rumored that Han's disgusting boss and future adversary, Jabba the Hutt, will make an appearance.

The Han Solo movie is still scheduled to be released in theaters on May 25, 2018, but before that, you can watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi starting on December 15.
