The Cord Cutter Podcast #7: Disney Leaving Netflix/Atypical

Welcome to the seventh edition of The Cord Cutter Podcast! This week, we bring on CinemaBlend Editor Corey Chichizola to talk about how Disney is taking their films off of Netflix, and get into our thoughts on the new Netflix original show Atypical. Big news came down recently when Disney announced that their films would be leaving Netflix in the (relatively) near future, even though the company had just started allowing newer films like The Jungle Book to stream on the service. Well, because sometimes life just isn't fair, the good people at Disney have decided that having their movies on their own streaming service is a much better idea. So, we'll start this week's podcast by going over the ins and outs of this new development.

Next, we'll get into Atypical. While recent shows like Parenthood have featured characters who are on the autism spectrum, Atypical is the rare program that not only has a main protagonist with autism, but also makes that characteristic a major part of the series. The show focuses on 18-year-old Sam (Keir Gilchrist) and his family as he decides to change his life by trying to get a girlfriend for the first time, and we'll go over the show with a fine-tooth comb to let you know whether or not it's worth a spot in your Netflix queue. Ready to dive in? Great! Read on to get the lowdown on this week's podcast and then listen for yourself above!
