Burger King Employee Fired For Intentionally Stepping On Lettuce

People might not expect to eat the highest quality product when they stop in at Burger King, but most of them expect to at least consume something that hasn’t been trampled on. Unfortunately, for diners at BK’s Mayfield Heights, Ohio location, they may not have gotten that courtesy. Take a look at the picture below…

The above image was posted on 4chan with the caption “This is the lettuce you eat at Burger King”. Not surprisingly, the thought didn’t sit well with other users; so, they decided to do something about it. According to Hyper Vocal, they used the embedded GPS data to track the picture’s location, which allowed the Burger King in question to be found within fifteen minutes. The store was contacted, along with the local news, and according to Fox 8, the employee who stomped on the lettuce has already been fired.

Here’s what Burger King corporate had to say about the alleged disgusting incident…

“Burger King Corp. has recently been made aware of a photo posted on a social networking site that allegedly shows a BURGER KING® restaurant employee violating the company’s stringent food handling procedures. Food safety is a top priority at all BURGER KING® restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question. The restaurant where this photo was allegedly taken is independently-owned and operated by a BURGER KING® franchisee. The franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and terminated the employee involved in this incident.”

I’m sure the majority of Burger King employees aren’t stomping on people’s food. Most are decent and honest people. Unfortunately, this mess makes every current BK employee look bad, and that’s a shame. Pop Blend’s thoughts go out to the unfortunate souls who wound up eating the tainted food.
