Country Star Jake Owen Weds Girlfriend On The Beach

Last month, country star Jake Owen got overcome with emotion while performing in front of his friends and family at his alma mater Vero Beach High. Unsure of how to deal with those feelings, he impulsively called his girlfriend Lacey Buchanan on stage, got down on one knee and proposed to her in front of the crowd. By all accounts, it was a touching moment. Unfortunately, it was so impulsive the singer didn’t actually have the ring yet. She still said yes, the ring was designed and yesterday, the couple took to the beach to officially tie the knot.

Owen and Buchanan met when she was cast in his music video for “8 Second Ride”. The experience went so well, she was brought back for “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and shortly thereafter, they decided to become a couple. The girlfriend/ boyfriend phase lasted for about a year until the surprise proposal and an engagement of only about a month.

According to People, this weekend’s ceremony was kept pretty casual. She wore an Amsale dress, and he donned a white button up and light drawstring pants while they said their I-Dos in front of family members. Champagne and a seated brunch followed afterward with love and affection shared by all.

Pop Blend’s congratulations go out to Owen, 30, and the new Mrs. Owen, 22. May the rest of their loves be as satisfying together as this past year.
