Jon Bon Jovi Says His Family Will Be Okay After His Daughter's Overdose
By Mack Rawden 4 years ago
Jon Bon Jovi didnít go into detail about his daughterís overdose when he was asked about it during a recent promotional event for the Stand Up Guys soundtrack, but he did make it clear how appreciative he is of the outpouring of support heís gotten from fans. The singerís nineteen-year-old daughter Stephanie was recently rushed to the hospital after she experimented with heroin. Thanks to a law in New York designed to encourage drug users to seek help, she will avoid prosecution, but not surprisingly, the fallout is still being felt by her entire family.
Calling it a moment that should make it clear to everyone heís fundamentally a human dealing with the same problems as everyone else, Bon Jovi said life will go on in the wake of this devastation. Hereís a portion of his exact quote, as per The Los Angeles TimesÖ
ĒThis tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."
This is a good example of handling a tough situation with class and sophistication. By addressing the topic on everyoneís mind, Bon Jovi got the subject out of the way in order to move past it; yet, he didnít go into so much detail that he aired the familyís dirty laundry.
Pop Blendís sincerest thoughts go out to the entire Bon Jovi/ Bongiovi family at this hour. Jon has a very busy schedule with Hurricane Sandy relief appearances/ events coming up. Hereís to hoping he can find the right balance to heal both his community and his family.
