With a bevy of hair and makeup assistants at their disposal for all kinds of occasions and events, it seems as if celebrities always look a bit more beautiful with a little help. In truth, however, some celebrities have a little edge in the makeup department due to a little love and a few tutorials. Apparently, actress Kate Hudson has learned how to do her own makeup from some of the very best.
Hudson, 33, is the daughter of actress Goldie Hawn, a woman who is no stranger to the makeup chair herself. When Hudson was little, she would spend time with legendary makeup artist Tom Case, who would let her dabble in his box of supplies. From there, an interest grew and grew and now the actress even does her makeup for herself and her friends.
“I love putting makeup on friends. I do it all the time. If I’m bringing them to a premiere, or we’re having a party, they’ll all come over early and I’ll do their makeup. I love it.”
Hudson also tells People she usually just sticks to the basics with her look, which is fitting, since the Something Borrowed actress is the face of Almay cosmetics, which focuses on fresh-looking skin. However, sometimes she does wish she could spend more time with her lips.
“If I had the Angelina Jolie or Scarlett Johansson lips, I’d probably have a lot more fun with lips. But I concentrate more on my eyes. But it depends on every face — and that’s what’s so fun about being a girl.”
Hudson may not be the best at choosing movie roles, but she is pretty great at wearing makeup. It is nice to know she puts her own skills into effect from time to time.
