Will Tom Cruise And Katie Holmes Remain This Civil?

By Mack Rawden 2012-07-20 19:53:26
Itís been roughly three weeks since Katie Holmes blindsided Tom Cruise with divorce papers, and during that time, the two have remained almost shockingly civil. A lengthy, bitter and emotional round of legal battles were avoided by a quick settlement that reportedly pleased both parties, and in recent days, a smooth handoff of Suri from Katie to Tom even happened without any reported animosity or anger.

Apart from an absolute drubbing the Church of Scientology has taken over rumors Katie decided to end the marriage because of how the religion might affect Suriís future, there havenít really been many punches or even jabs thrown by either party. In fact, even the coupleís friends and family members have largely stayed silent, only claiming over and over again all involved want what is best for Suri.

In theory, this is the way break-ups should happen. Tom and Katie have been an absolute model for how to make the whole process as comfortable on the child as possible. Suri reportedly talked with her father everyday while he was on the phone in Iceland, and when he returned for a few days, it was almost a given heíd be the one who would look after her. I honestly hope this good-will continues, but given how bitterly and angrily most couples deal with divorce, itís hard not to feel like the other shoe is going to drop at some point.

Maybe Iím just being pessimistic, but I canít help shaking the feeling either Tom or Katie is going to eventually spill dirt publically, and it will lead to a chain reaction of hard feelings. What do you think? Will Katie and Tom remain civil? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll belowÖ
