Transformers 4: Will Mark Wahlberg Get You To See It?
By Mack Rawden 4 years ago
For a movie that grossed more than a billion dollars, Transformers: Dark Of The Moon didnít exactly leave a ton of people elated about the possibility of another installment. In fact, many left the theater thinking it was time for the franchise to go in another direction. As of this morning, that new direction officially walked through the door.
Thanks to a vigorous Internet campaign and director Michael Bayís willingness to listen, Mark Wahlberg has officially been hired to take over the lead actor duties from Shia LaBeouf. Consequently, there has been a torrent of new excitement about the fourth film set to be released in 2014. Hardcore enthusiasts of the franchise seem to be very pleased with this decision, but as for the bigger critics of the series, itís unclear whether this will be enough to get them back on board.
Wahlberg has always had a talent for embracing and going with mediocre material. Heís sold the hell out of some bad projects in the past. Given his personal popularity and the popularity of the larger franchise, itís highly likely the film will turn a tidy profit, but just how big of a profit will depend on whether people who are just meh on the series turn up.
So, the question is, will Mark Wahlberg get you out of the house to see this film in two years? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll belowÖ
