Big Brother 16's Remaining Episode Schedule Is About To Get Really Weird
While there are still a few weeks left of Big Brother Season 16, this Thursday really makes the home stretch for the remaining episodes. The events that have transpired in the house this season have been mostly predictable, but the upcoming schedule is a lot less so. CBS has shifted a bunch of things around for the remaining episodes of Big Brother, adding a couple of Tuesday night episodes, and even one Friday episode.
Here's how the remaining Big Brother 16 episodes will air, starting with Wednesday night's pre-taped episode...
Wednesday, September 3 - 8:00 p.m. - Veto episode.
Thursday, September 4 - 9:00 p.m. - Live Episode (double eviction)
Sunday, September 7 - 8:00 p.m. - Head of Household competition (follow-up from double eviction, nominations)
Here's where things start to shift around. Dates/times confirmed by CBS (unless otherwise specified). Everything related to what might happen in the scheduled episodes is speculation based on past seasons.
Tuesday, September 9 - 8:00 p.m. - The Veto episode.
Wednesday, September 10 - Live show -
Weirdly, CBS doesn't have 9/14's episode on their schedule (yet, anyway), but TVGuide lists it as: Sunday, September 14 - 8:31 p.m. (note the time change) - Nominations
Back to what's confirmed by CBS...
Tuesday, September 16 - 8:00 p.m. - Veto episode?
Wednesday, September 17 - 8:00 p.m. - Live episode. First part of the final Head of Household begins? (Depends on how they do it this year.)
Friday, September 19 -- yes, Friday -- 8:00 p.m. -- Head of Household competitions? Hard to guess considering, um, Friday?!
Wednesday, September 24 - 9:30 p.m. -- Hour and a half Season 16 Finale.
The reasons for the shift are likely due to the fall schedule debuting this month. CBS has Thursday night football set up beginning next week, and new drama Madam Secretary and returning drama The Good Wife premiering Sunday, September 21. And we already knew that things were shuffled around to set the Big Brother finale and Survivor premiere on September 24. Looking at the above schedule of Big Brother episodes, the finale seems really awkwardly timed. There's that random Friday episode and then nothing until Wednesday, September 24.
Hopefully the series will find something interesting for the houseguests to do to pass the time between competitions on the live feeds. Maybe America would be able to vote on some things? Anything to make the feeds interesting for the remaining three houseguests while they wait for the finale and obsess over who they'd take if they win that final Head of Household competition. At this point, it's hard to feel particularly optimistic about the direction of the season -- read my complaints about that along with some live feed spoilers here -- but we've seen things turn around in Big Brother before, and there's still enough time for some interesting and far less predictable events to transpire.
