Blythe Danner To Appear In NBC's New Comedy Up All Night

NBC’s Up All Night is already shaping up to be one of the funniest new comedies of the fall season. The half-hour comedy, which stars Christina Applegate and Will Arnett, premiered last night on NBC, introducing us to Reagan and Chris, two new-parents dealing with the life-changes that come with having a baby.

It looks like at some point we’ll be meeting Reagan’s mother. According to Deadline, Blythe Danner has been lined up to play Applegate’s character’s mom in what may turn into a recurring role. Given the focus on parenting within the series, I can definitely see there being room for a grandmother or two within the story.

Danner is no stranger to playing someone’s mom, either. The Meet the Parents star played Will’s mother in the NBC comedy Will & Grace, as well as Huff’s mother in Huff. Considering how well the dynamic between Applegate and Rudolph works, not to mention the on-screen chemistry between Applegate and Arnett, I’d be very interested to see what kind of connection Applegate makes with her on-screen mother when Danner makes her appearance.

Up All Night airs Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET on NBC.
