Full Community Cast Reportedly Set To Return For Season 4

While the fourth season of Community will be proceeding on a new night and without its creator serving as show runner, there's good news with regards to the status of the cast. Those who were concerned that some (or all) of the cast might not be returning for Season 4 can breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like the Greendale Community gang will be back in school this fall.

Deadline posted the news tonight, stating that their sources say Sony Pictures TV has picked up the options on all of the lead actors for the NBC comedy series. (That's presumably Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donal Glover, Jim Rash, Chevy Chase, Danny Pudi and Ken Jeong.)

Given the very public spat between series creator Dan Harmon and star Chevy Chase, there was some concern that Chase might not be returning for Season 4. Dan Harmon has since been removed as show runner, so that may not have been an issue when it came to Chase and Sony's decision to see that Pierce was back in the Greendale study room with the rest of the group.

It's certainly good news to know things will be business-as-usual as far as the cast is concerned. With NBC moving the comedy to Friday night's on their primetime line-up and David Guarascio and Moses Port being brought in to replace Dan Harmon as show runner, change is in the air. It'll be good to see the group back together and whole when Season 4 picks up.

Those fans who attend Comic Con in San Diego next month will want to check out the Community panel, which will feature most of the cast of the series. Deadline states that Chase and Donald Glover weren't on the list of people set for the panel, stating that Chase will be out of town. As for Glover, his music act Childish Gambino is on tour this summer, which might explain his absence from the panel line-up - though it doesn't look like he has anything set for the week of SDCC, so maybe he'll manage to squeeze it in? Here's hoping!
