Howard Stern Confirmed To Join The America's Got Talent Judges Table For Season 7

There have been rumors that radio shock-jock Howard Stern was in the running to take over as judge on NBC’s summer talent competition series America’s Got Talent. It’s been confirmed. Fans of the series can expect Stern to join the series next summer.

Entertainment Weekly posted the news this morning, stating that it was announced today that Stern will join America’s Got Talent, replacing Piers Morgan, who has departed from the series in an effort to focus his time and energy on his CNN show. According to EW, Talent is set to move to New York, which is where Stern works on his SiriusXM radio show.

NBC alternative programming head Paul Telegdy had positive things to say about the hire, stating, “Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer.”

This news is likely to please fans, and disappoint others. There doesn’t seem to be much middle-ground among people’s perceptions of the famous radio host. People either seem to love him or loathe him. It’ll be interesting to see how people react to this and what kind of attitude Stern will bring to the series when he weighs in on the talent featured during the series seventh season in 2012.
