Lindsay Lohan Will Take On Elizabeth Taylor In Lifetime's Biopic
In the early months of 2012, Lifetime did two things: the network announced an Elizabeth Taylor biopic was in the works, and Lindsay Lohan was named as the frontrunner for the role. Lohan had been in talks to play Taylor since last spring; however, the project took a while to get its feet off the ground. Although, whether this had to do with problems at the network or Lohanís issues with stealing, drugs, and generally causing herself legal troubles has yet to come out. Though many of us might have slated this project as a hopeless cause back in February, apparently a troubled actress is just who Lifetime hopes will play another troubled actress, especially where Ms. Taylorís relationship with Richard Burton is concerned.
Lohan is officially set to take on the role of Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetimeís original TV movie, Liz & Dick. Because the role will especially follow Taylorís romance with two-time husband Burton, who were married, divorced, re-married and re-divorced in the sixties and seventies, the role is bound to be a juicy one. According to THR, the film will be shot in Los Angeles beginning this June.
The former movie star has been spending a lot of time on television recently, guest starring on Saturday Night Live and filming for an upcoming episode of Glee. The move to television is certainly all in the name of comeback, but Lohan will have to do a little more than a few TV gigs to earn the respect of the movie world, which has not forgotten I Know Who Killed Me. TV Blend wishes the actress the best of luck.
