Magic City’s period setting and lovely details may be the Starz drama’s best selling point. The show follows Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a Miami club owner who is constantly dealing with the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of working under a prominent mob boss. If you didn’t watch the series during its initial run, or want to check out some of Magic City: The Complete First Season’s in-depth period piece bonus features, you’ll be able to do so when Season 1 hits Blu-ray and DVD on October 2.
If you still happen to be waffling over purchasing the set, or just want to look into what the bonus features have to offer, Starz and Anchor Bay Entertainment have released a couple of bonus clips, highlighting some of the acting and some of the looks of the set for the drama. The first clip, called “Ike Meets with the D.A.,” a scene where Morgan’s character, Ike, has a few words with Matt Ross’s Jack (whom you may recognize from Big Love) about dead bodies found on the hotel owner’s property.
It’s almost difficult to keep an ear on that scene when viewers are getting an eyeful of the cool car in the background, which is why it's pretty awesome the second sneak peak clip is about the vehicles on the show. Called “The Cars of Magic City,” the segment discusses how cars were found and then specifically ‘cast’ for different characters in the cast. If you are into old sports cars, this one is a must-see.
